BROTHERS 2015 Movie Review Taran Adarsh , Rajeev Masand

Brothers is what you could call the classic Bollywood family feud. It’s about two half-brothers torn apart by the murder of their mother (Shefali Shah) by their alcoholic father Gary Fernandes (Jackie Shroff). While elder brother David (Akshay Kumar, the only actor who does not speak in an Anglo-Indian accent), moves on from the family’s street-fighting ways to live a regular life as a physics teacher, Monty (Sidharth Malhotra) deals with their recovering father, now back from prison, whose guilt is driving him crazy.

But with street fighting ingrained so deeply in their blood, both brothers find it hard to stay away from the sport. For David, who has a young daughter suffering from a kidney ailment, the ring is where he makes, in three hours, the money he would in three months as a teacher. And for Monty, the ring presents the opportunity to battle his inner demons, the biggest of them being his belief that he’s an illegitimate son. So when street fighting gets legalised in the form of an IPL-style competition called R2F (Right to Fight), the brothers get to fight mixed martial arts champions from across the world.

Storyline: Two brothers fight against each other and their past

Sports drama films, by nature, start becoming predictable, culminating usually in a do-or-die battle. But the fun isn’t in second-guessing the ending, as much as it is in the journey of getting there. Even in Brothers, the moment the competition line-up is announced, you can predict how the rest of the film will pan out, with each round leading to tougher fights. But what if we want neither fighter to lose? That’s the film’s (or its Hollywood original Warrior’s) greatest triumph. So, while we want David to win so he can take care of his daughter, we’re equally drawn by Monty’s own need to be accepted, even if it means beating his brother.

Add to this duel, the plight of the father — who’s sure to lose no matter who wins — and we realise that the fight is actually between three people. At this point, every punch and every kick hurts all three. Like in any family feud, pain inflicted on the other is pain inflicted on oneself.

It’s clear why Karan Johar wanted to remake the film, given how it’s basically a Bollywood film at heart. But it’s surprising how little has been done with such a great premise. Despite being set in contemporary times, the films feels like a 90s pot-boiler, with an over-the-top Jackie Shroff, Kiran Kumar playing a businessman named Peter Bregenza, Shefali Shah in a role where she’s expected to cry throughout, and Akshay Kumar whose ‘action’ speaks louder than words. There’s even Raj Zutshi hamming it up as a commentator.

After a point, the film begins to feel oddly nostalgic. Remember action films like Mohra, Khiladi and Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi? This film takes you back to all those films — don’t fight that nostalgia. Watch Brothers as though it were one of those… it is, after all, a return of the khiladi.

They say marriages are made in heaven. Taking a cue from that, the first look of Vikas Bahl's next film Shaandar gives a glimpse of Shahid Kapoor-Alia Bhatt's heavenly love story. While the first look gave us a hint about the film, the first poster that was unveiled on Wednesday promised an electrifying chemistry between the lead pair. 

Karan Johar had tweeted on Tuesday, "And they wake up tomorrow.....@aliaa08 @shahidkapoor #ShaandaarFirstLookTomorrow."

The first look picture has both Alia and Sasha enjoying their afternoon siesta on a bench. With the caption 'They wake up tomorrow' indicating that the first film poster will hit the digital platforms on Wednesday, Shaandaar's first look picture has upped the excitement levels. The fresh pairing exhibits an eye grabbing chemistry, which has ignited curiosity among the audiences.

Now, the lead actors have already unveiled the first look poster of the film on Twitter and #ShaandaarFirstLook has already started trending on Twitter.

Both Alia and Shahid look adorably cute in the poster and promises to be twice as much fun in the film. The trailer of the film will release on August 11. 

Shaandaar is scheduled to release on October 22, 2015.

History of slave India reveals everything that how our ancestors and forefathers had worked hard and suffered all the brutal behavior of Britishers. We cannot imagine by sitting here that how hard the independence was for India from the British rule. It took sacrifices of lives of many freedom fighters and several decades of struggle from 1857 to 1947. An Indian soldier (Mangal Pandey) in the British force had first raised his voice against Britishers for the independence of India.

Later several great freedom fighters had struggled and spent their whole life only for getting freedom. We can never forget the sacrifices of the Bhagat Singh, Khudi Ram Bose and Chandra Sekhar Azad who had lost their lives in their early age just for fighting for their country. How can we ignore all the struggles of Netaji and Gandhiji. Gandhiji was a great Indian personalities who taught Indians a big lesson of non-violence. He was the one and only who lead India to get freedom with the help of non-violence. Finally the result of long years of struggle came in front on 15th of August 1947 when India got freedom.

We are so lucky that our forefathers have given us a land of peace and happy where we can sleep whole night without fear and enjoy whole day in our school or home. Our country is developing very fast in the field of technology, education, sports, finance and various other fields which were almost impossible before freedom. India is one of the countries rich in nuclear power. We are going ahead by actively participating in the sports like Olympics, Commonwealth games and Asian games. We have full rights to chose our government and enjoy largest democracy in the world. Yes, we are free and have complete freedom however we should not understand ourselves free of responsibilities towards our country. As being responsible citizens of the country, we should be always ready to handle any emergency condition in our country.

When people all over the world were sleeping, people in India were waking to get freedom and life from the British rule. Now, after the independence, India has been a largest democratic country in the world. Our country is a most famous country for the saying of unity in diversity. It face many incidents testing its secularism however Indian people become always ready to answer with their unity.

Because of the hard struggles of our forefathers we are now able to enjoy the freedom and breathe fresh air according to our wish. Getting freedom from the Britishers was really an impossible task our forefathers did with their continuous efforts. We can never forget their works and always remember them through the history. We cannot remember all the deeds of all the freedom fighters in a day only however can give them a heartily salute. They would always be in our memories and way of inspiration to us whole life.

We should take an oath today of being highly responsible and well-educated citizens of the tomorrow India. We should sincerely perform our duty and do work hard to get the goal and successfully lead this democratic nation.

Kargil Vijay Diwas 2015 - Kargil memorial day or Kargil victory day is celebrated every 26th july in the memory of Soldiers Who died in Kargil war in 1999 serving for our country. Here we try our best to give information about kargiil vijay diwas.Kargil war was fought between india and pakistan. Many soldiers died and Kargil memorial day is celebrated remembering them.We must remember and care about them because they died for our country.Here is swome more infor mation about Kargil Victorial day.

The 15th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated in India on 26 July 2014. The day is celebrated in the honour of war heroes of Kargil every year.

The Day was celebrated with equal pomp in Dras sector in Jammu & Kashmir and at Amar Jawan Jyoti, India Gate in New Delhi.

Defence Minister Arun Jaitley, Army chief Bikram Singh,Navy chief Robin Dhowan and Air Force chief Arup Raha paid tribute to martyrs at Amar Jawan Jyoti, India Gate in New Delhi.

On the eve of KargiL Vijay Diwas announce that Union government will soon finalise the construction of National War Memorial and War Museum for which the Union government has earmarked 100 crore rupees in the Union Budget 2014-15. The war memorial and museum will be constructed at Princess Park at India Gate Complex in New Delhi.

About Kargil War

Kargil War was fought between India and Pakistan in 1999. The war started with the reports that intruders from Pakistan had come deep inside Indian territory in strategic positions that overlooked the only road link between Srinagar and Leh.
The 73-day conflict fought during May – July 1999 saw Indian forces come out victorious against the intruders and taking back all the occupied strategic positions in Kargil and Dras sector.

Important facts of Kargil War

3 May 1999: Infiltrators from Pakistan side under the Operation Badr comes inside India with an aim to sever the link between Kashmir and Ladakh, and cause Indian forces to withdraw from the Siachen Glacier

25 May 1999: Indian Air Force launched Operation Safed Sagar with instructions to not cross the Line of Control

26 May 1999: Operation Vijay launched mobilizing almost 200000 troops

30 May 1999: Indian Navy launched Operation Talwar sending submarines on patrols close to Karachi harbor

4 July 1999: Indian forces captured Tiger Hill along with Point 4590 (the nearest point with full view of the Srinagar-Leh highway) and Point 5353 (the highest peak in the Dras Sector)

14 July 1999: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee declares Operation Vijay a success

26 July 1999: Indian Army announces complete eviction of Pakistani intruders. Over 520 soldiers were killed in the entire Kargil war

The war saw awarding of Four Param Vir Chakras (PVCs), nine Maha Vir Chakras (MVCs) and 53 Vir Chakras among other medals.
